Traditionally livestock, despite the small size, Uruguay is among the top 10 meat exporters in the world. Uruguay is the only country with a national system of mandatory traceability for cattle, in which animals from birth, are individually identified by a device that allows traceability throughout the entire production chain. A mechanism that allows the meat to tell their own story, from the field to the plate and provides consumers with greater assurance of the product. Even with further technological development, other regions fail to produce similar Uruguayan meat. This difference is explained both rangeland conditions facing the country, as the constant search for genetic improvement that made the cabins. The result is an extra-lean meat, with a high dietary quality that does not cause cholesterol and offer the highest rates of "Omega 3" vitamin "E" as well as zinc, iron and vitamin "B".
